Learn about becoming a Lion, and how you can help!
1. Your Name: Eileen Smith
2. How long have you been a member of the Bartlett Lions Club? I have been a proud member of the Bartlett Lions Club for the past two years, but my connection to the Lions family goes back much further.
3. Why did you join the Lions Club? For over 20 years I worked closely with Mid-South Lions fitting hearing aids — a role that allowed me to witness firsthand the life-changing impact of the Lions services. After retiring, I decided to continue my service by officially joining my local club.
4. What has been your favorite project or event as a Lion? Why? One of my favorite ways to serve is by working local festivals and engaging with the public. I find it is both surprising and rewarding to help people understand the wide range of services Lions offer beyond what they may already know.
5. How has being a Lion impacted your life? For me, being a Lion keeps me grounded and reminds me that anyone, at any time, might need a helping hand.
6. What would you say to someone considering joining the Lions Club? My message to anyone thinking about joining? “Come join us!” Simply put, the Lions Club is not only one of the world’s largest service organizations — it’s also a place to connect with others who care deeply about making a difference.
