1. Your Name: Chelsea Guffin
2. How long have you been a member of the Bartlett Lions Club? Almost 2 years
3. Why did you join the Lions Club? I joined the Lions Club because I have a passion for helping others, both in my career and in my community. Since 2012, I’ve worked in the optometry field, becoming a Licensed Dispensing Optician and dedicating myself to helping people see clearly. That same passion for improving lives led me to the Lions Club, an organization committed to service, vision care, and making our community stronger. Being a Lion allows me to give back in meaningful ways, whether through vision initiatives or other community projects, and I’m proud to be part of a group that shares my commitment to making a difference
4. What has been your favorite project or event as a Lion? Why? My favorite event as a Lion has been the Beeping Easter Egg Hunt. It was incredibly rewarding to serve kids and adults who had never been able to experience the joy of hunting for Easter eggs before. Watching their faces light up as they listened for the beeping sounds and found their eggs was truly unforgettable. Being part of this event filled my heart with joy, knowing we were creating a moment of inclusion and excitement for those who are visually impaired. It was a powerful reminder of why I became a Lion—to make a real difference in people’s lives
5. How has being a Lion impacted your life? I’ve witnessed the pure joy that comes from making a difference in someone’s life. Being a Lion has strengthened my love for service, deepened my connections with those around me, and reminded me that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. It’s not just about giving back—it’s about being part of something bigger than myself, creating a better world for others, and growing in the process
6. What would you say to someone considering joining the Lions Club? In a world that often feels overwhelming with negativity, joining the Lions Club is a powerful reminder that there is still so much good around us. It’s easy to get caught up in the bad, but when you become a Lion, you see firsthand the kindness, generosity, and selflessness of people who simply want to help others. Being part of this organization connects you with a community of individuals who are committed to making a difference—whether it’s providing vision care, supporting those in need, or creating opportunities for people who might otherwise be overlooked. The Lions Club restores faith in humanity, showing that even small acts of service can have a lasting impact. If you’re looking for a way to bring more positivity into your life and the lives of others, there’s no better place to start than here.
