Frequently asked Questions

Who can join the Lions Club?

Anyone 18 and older who is passionate about giving back to their community can become a Lion. We welcome people from all walks of life, professions, and backgrounds. All you need is a desire to make a difference and help others.

What if I am under 18?

If you’re under 18, you can still volunteer at our events and service projects with a parent or guardian’s permission and a signed waiver. It’s a great way to make a difference, develop leadership skills, and give back to your community!

What are the benefits of joining the Lions Club?

As a Lion, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a positive impact in your community and beyond.
  • Build leadership and organizational skills.
  • Connect with like-minded individuals.
  • Participate in meaningful volunteer work.
  • Join a global network of Lions across the world.

What’s the time commitment?

The time commitment varies depending on your level of involvement.

Most members attend monthly meetings and participate in local service projects or fundraising events. You can volunteer as much or as little as your schedule allows—whether you have time for one event or multiple, there’s always a way to contribute.

How much does it cost to join?

Membership dues vary by club

There is a one-time initiation fee of $40. The Bartlett Lions Club has an annual membership fee of $100 for an individual and $160 for a family of two. If you are 30 years old and under, and a full-time student, the dues is $60 per year.

This helps cover administrative costs, club events, and activities. This fee allows us to focus our fundraising efforts on helping the community.

Do I have to attend all the meetings?

Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

While regular attendance at meetings is encouraged, we understand that people have busy schedules. You are welcome to attend as many meetings as you can, and participate in events or service projects that fit your availability.

Can I bring my family to events?

Absolutely!

Many of our events and service projects are family-friendly, and we encourage members to get their families involved in community service. It’s a great way to spend time together while making a difference. And they can join!!

What kind of service projects does the Lions Club do?

A variety of service projects.

Our club focuses on a variety of service projects including vision screenings, providing eyeglasses to those in need, organizing food drives, supporting local schools, and hosting community fundraisers. We’re always looking for new ideas, so members can bring their passions and interests to the table!

How can I get involved before becoming a member?

Attend a meeting.

We welcome anyone interested in joining to attend one of our meetings or volunteer at a service project before committing to membership. It’s a great way to get to know the club and see if it’s a good fit for you
